The Sagamore is a luxury resort hotel located on its own private island on Lake George. The Sagamore has been in operation since 1883 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel features elegant rooms and condos as well as multiple restaurants, a golf course, and a spa.

Everything about this hotel was magical. I stayed for two nights with my family during the Ice Bar and everything had been well thought of in advance. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptional; the servers at Bella Vita were knowledgeable and amicable, the three massage therapists each of my family members had did excellent jobs and the security staff, especially Mike, was so helpful. The grounds were well maintained, views were incredible and overall atmosphere was a 10/10. Will definitely be back to see the lake in the summer. Would be an excellent stay for a romantic trip as well.

What a beautiful and historic hotel. Attended for a conference and it was easily the nicest place I've been to for that purpose. The conference space itself was very nice, very comfortable. But the views from the lakeside patio make the place magic. The hotel itself is beautiful and historic and the lunch served was easily the best conference meal I've ever had. I will be going back for recreational travel in the near future. Highly recommend.

This past weekend we had our wedding at the beautiful Sagamore. Danielle and her team exceeded every expectation that we had to help make our wedding day memorable and perfect. From managing all the vendors, tracking the weather, making sure we were relaxed and calm, she did it all until the end. Not only is the staff exceptional, the views are like no other. Our families said it was one of the best weddings/wedding weekends they have been too. We not only were able to celebrate love at this beautiful place, we were able to make long lasting memories. Highly recommend booking here if you want the same! Thank you Danielle and The Sagamore!

Beautiful surrounding, but the hotel has definitely seen its best days. The rooms in the lodges are old and the cleaning was far from good. The "third bed" (pullout sofa) maybe used to be a mattress. Its all worn down. Not worth the price at all.Good recreation possibilities. We had dinner at the Italian Restaurant, service was good but the food mediocre.

The Sagamore is a beautiful property located on Lake George and one of the top destination resorts for families in the Northeast. We are in a lakeside suite and have had a wonderful time during our two night visit. We loved the room and decided to stay here while skiing Gore Mountain, which is around 40 minutes away. It's a little further than we'd like, but 100% worth it for the experience and amenities that you get at this property. It must be absolutely beautiful here in the summertime as well.

The Sagamore is simply stunning. We couldn't ask for a more picture perfect fall weekend for our first time in Lake George. It was a much needed parents weekend away. The staff is spectacular from the front desk to the Morgan boat cruise tour. We stayed in one of the lodges and the rooms were great with a beautiful view of the bay. Set your expectations in terms of rooms. It's an old building and it's meant to feel like a lodge so if you're seeking something ultra modern this isn't it, which is what I loved. The food and drinks were wonderful. La Bella Vita breakfast was wonderful, especially the Lobster Benedict. Only comment is the service was hit or miss with long waits at times or needing to ask multiple times for a drink you ordered but the views are amazing and sometimes you need to remember to slow down and everyone is doing the best they can.

I was somehow disappointed with this resort. It's by no means a bad hotel. The rec room is very nice, although for the size of the resort it gets very busy. The indoor pool was also a bit of a let down. And it's all due perspective, they would not be bad on their own, but given the price and size of the hotel they felt short of our own expectations. The Spa was the highest point, very nice, with amazing staff, that is a 5 star experience for sure.We came during winter and many of the restaurants around were closed. So, not a bad experience, but did not meet expectations. I was hoping for so much more for us to do as a family, but we spend most time inside the room, without much to do. The rooms could also get some overdue revamping, a bit outdated in some aspects.

The location of this property is breathtaking and so beautiful!! That said, there is an enormous amount of upkeep or remodeling that needs to be done! Our room was in the basement in lot 4! Stairs up, then stairs down with luggage is not for the fair minded! For the amount of money paid for a room, breakfast and dinner you would think would be top notch! Not even close! Service was just ok. I ordered 4 drinks ($78.00) dollars that were just terrible from the bartender! We were sat for breakfast and after 15 minutes with no server, I had to get up and ask host if we could have a server! We finally placed our order and part of our order didn’t come for 10 minutes after we were served! It’s really to bad, because it is such a beautiful location. Dining room chairs are extremely uncomfortable (needing updates). These are just a few things that could be improved. The list goes on for such an enormous undertaking! I would not stay here again. I am sure I could find a place where the scenery is just as beautiful with accommodations and service top notch!!

My family have been coming here now for the last 3 years and I feel since it’s such a wonderful retreat and location this might be turning in to a family yearly tradition. We’ve stayed in both the lodges and Main Hotel and for a family of 3 find both perfect my suitable. For the Lodges you want to try to stay at Lodges 1-3 for location and closer to the pool. The main hotel king suite suits a family of 3-4 perfectly ( Large Pull out with separate door between bedroom). The grounds and staff are great and accommodating and with families with kids under 15 the Recreation Room Will keep them occupied and safe for parents to hang poolside without worry! The pool is stunning and the view is just as incredible as any place I’ve stayed! If it rains, the kids can go to the heated Indoor covered pool which came in handy while we were there! The Morgan Boat cruise you can’t miss and the food is all good and serviceable at all locations. We’ve only been there in the Summer but I’m sure the Fall is just as charming.Overall I highly recommend The Sagamore for a great family weekend trip! A 4 hour drive from NYC

This was our family vacation this summer and I paid $800 a night for my family of 4. Unfortunately, we were not able to fully relax. The grounds have a massive bee problem. All I wanted to do was relax and read my book by the pool but this was not possible. Bees, and I mean many, many, bees, swarm the entire pool area. They know and acknowledge it’s an issue, and have little hive looking things to lure bees into around the property. But it doesn’t help and it doesn’t take away from the fact that if you are by the pool, even with no drinks and no food nearby, you will be swarmed by bees. They definitely have multiple hives on the grounds but refuse to acknowledge this. Forget it if you try to order food and a drink- you’ll be swatting away. It’s really a massive, unfortunate problem, and quite frankly, was a drain on our trip. Management could care less!! They said it’s part of nature. I’ve stayed at many other less expensive hotels and I can assure you Ive never seen anything like this. It’s not normal. Otherwise, the rooms were beautiful, housekeeping is great, service is great and the view is great. It’s just hard to fully enjoy- and be allergy families -BEWARE!!

Enchanting resort nestled on its own gated island. This is the prime spot on Lake George. The staff is wonderful and the outside grounds are stunning. The rooms are alright, but this is not what you're paying for. You're paying for location and outside activities. Dining on site is great and I highly recommend it.

Tony A — Google review

We enjoyed everything about our recent 3-night stay. I'm sure rooms and suites vary a lot at this beautiful and expansive resort, and our lodge room was rather ordinary, but it was still comfortable (though a small microwave would have been nice to have). Services and staff at the front desk, restaurant, shuttle, The Morgan, etc., etc., were all top-notch, and the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings can't be beat. Even the weather was glorious for every minute of our stay, so thanks for arranging that as well. (ha ha)

What a beautiful place in the winter. Getting here can be a trick in Feb with unpredictable snow storms but when you make it it’s great. The sagamore is known as an elegant summer resort, but in the winter its just as lovely! We were here for a girls weekend and we’re so happy! Feet of pristine white snow, the beautiful Adirondack’s and very frozen lake George made a beautiful scene. The hotel is full of real and has fireplaces where you can sit on comfy couches and have a coffee, wine, cocktail whatever! The food was good and service remarkable for an off-season visit where they shut down the hotel during the week! Most of the stuff in town is shut down )but not the liquor store!)We relaxed by the fire, the indoor pool and spa were great surrounded by the panoramic view of snow and ice.Nice weekend

What an amazing stay we had. Totally catered to in every way possible from the moment we arrived. It is a family resort so there were many children running around. In a way I kind of wish they had separate activities and times for adults only. Just to give that sense of total relaxation. But above all else it was a place I’d revisit again and again.

Went here as a family in early Spring. We had a phenomenal weekend at The Sagamore. We were welcomed and treated warmly throughout our stay. They had great amenities including food, outside area (including the shore/ a small trail), the indoor recreational center. Would love to go back here again!

Ramachandra V — Google review

Stayed at the Sagamore over February break for a romantic winter getaway. There were lots of families and fun to see the children having so much fun. They had ghost stories for kids in the morning, a very shallow heated pool that was magical as the snow fell, the indoor pool and jacuzzi was really nice with a bar in the pool area. We had fun playing ping pong in the rec center. There were s'mores and great acoustic music at night... the resort is perfection!

Our fly was canceled and Sagamore more was the last min decision turn up to be the best one. Great ground and very good service.. Every single employee was super friendly and they did Made out stay there magical. 4th of July fireworks was very beautiful and the view to die for. Thank so much to make our weekend special.

Alina M — Google review

Great storied resort with sweeping vistas of the lake and Adirondack Mountains. The grounds are impeccably kept and the service is good. The exterior of the main hotel could use a fresh coat of white paint, but that’s really my only criticism of the property. Lots of activities both on and off the lake and decent restaurants on site. Excellent spot for a long weekend or a family trip. Having stayed here before the pandemic, we popped in this time for lunch on the way to Montreal. There is a $20 parking fee if you aren’t a guest, which is awful to do to a customer who is about to spend $70 on lunch. They should really refund your parking fee when you pay the restaurant bill. I removed a star because of this.

Eric M — Google review

I went to lunch with my father and my mom in law at the Sagamore, and it was a memorable experience. I was not a guest of the hotel but was treated as such, no difference. We ate at an umbrella table on the patio outside where we had the most amazing view of Bolton Landing, Lake George. The salad was delicious, and the pizza was great too. Everything was convenient like the restrooms since we had my 85-year old father there.A wonderful experience.

Lorraine G — Google review

The location was beautiful. Staff was super helpful. I was a bit fooled because I thought our room was going to be in the white main building seen in all the ads. There is a numerous outbuildings that are not as iconic. Also, we ate in the restaurant and our wings were cold and raw in the middle. After 30 minutes, they brought another cooked set, but charged us $19 for them. I would think they would have been taken off the bill because the first set was literally raw. Typically this is what good restaurants do to show appreciation to their guests.

Without a doubt, the best hotel (resort) experience that I have ever had. The pictures of the rooms on their website do not do it justice and we were impressed, It is not just a room. We had a separate bathroom, living area, bedroom and galley kitchen. Did not expect it. The hotel was top notch with many dining options. Also, the property has many free options including a boat tour and recreation center that is huge with softball, basketball, ping pong and mini-golf. We don't have kids but it is very kid-friendly. There is hiking close by and everyone should hike Pinnacle Mt. I gave 4 stars on service because the bar service was a little slow. Other than that it was perfect and the staff is extremely courteous. The best comparison is the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid. Been there several times. But the Sagamore has so much more and the cost is only a little more per night. We had a wonderful three day adventure there. Hope to go back soon.

Family Bliss by the Lake: Our Unforgettable Stay at The Sagamore Resort. The Sagamore Resort provided the perfect family weekend getaway! The friendly and accommodating staff made our stay enjoyable, and the lakeside location offered breathtaking views from both our balcony and the main floor. The diverse food options with various themes were a treat, and the short yet scenic drive added to the overall pleasant experience. A wonderful time spent with family!

Sagamore is one of the classic Miami Beach hotels. Excellent location and friendly staff. The rooms could be considered somewhat dated but they are far larger than most of the inventory on the beach, to me it’s a trade worth making. All of the staff members I encountered were excellent including Sharron at the front desk and Mickey at the pool bar, whose outgoing hospitality was the actual reason I choose to stay here with my sons. Very big shout out to Mickey you are one of the best !

This historic inn is on a beautiful island on Lake George. The views are amazing. The food was great. We took one of the 60 minute complimentary boat rides up the northern part of the lake to see all the islands.Walked down to the little town for some great food and shopping. The only complaint we would have is that the rooms are very low-key. To the point where we felt like we were staying at a 2 or 3 star hotel. The furniture was old and outdated. The bathroom was very small, and out view was of a parking lot.

Dj P — Google review

Serene resort in a beautiful location. Rooms are a bit dated and not worth the money. Also the resort is nice but the restaurants are not. Neighborhood town is pretty nice but the food options are limited.

We just got back from the most beautiful weekend at the Sagamore and I couldn't more highly recommend this resort!! We booked for mid-April, during the off season, and it was so empty we felt like we owned the place! We were upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the lake and brought complimentary champagne for our anniversary :) The service was impeccable in all areas and we couldn't think of a single thing we would have wanted to be different. Looking forward to returning in the near future!!

Top notch. Great restaurants. Beautiful views of Lake George and surrounding mountains.Very nice swimming spot for kiddos. If you're coming just to eat, arrive after 8pm, otherwise parking is $20

Great place. I just loved this place. Came for Honeymoon and the vibe was perfect. You get enough privacy and view. Their lake side pool is another level. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Our family stayed there during Memorial Day Weekend, and we had a blast! A lot of amenities to entertain kids and teenagers including fishing, pickleball, soccer, volley ball, basket ball, swimming and mini golf. The food was awesome! It was our first time in Bolton Landing and we fell in love with this charming city. I highly recommend the Sagamore Resort. It was such a lovely experience and can't wait to go back again!

Up for a conference, and so happy I was because now I want to go back. First time to Lake George and the Sagamore. Not the weather or season yet, but getting past that I have to say the place is absolutely impressive. It’s huge, with plenty of on site pools, indoor and out, a relaxation spa, a nice size gym and many other areas and amenities which I did not even explore. The outter rooms were nice but a little outdated, which I believe may be by design to fit the rest of the old history feel. I did not get to see the rooms in the main building, but the views and location are crème of the crop which make up for any of the rooms short comings. I will be back when the weather is right but be prepared to pay for this luxury experience with classic vibes.

Ryan M — Google review

The rooms, at least in the lodge are tired and dated. They are clean, but dated. The food service in the restaurants and bars was terrible. We waited and waited and waited for service. Food is average at best. Setting is stunning!!! People are nice.

Quite disappointing. Terrible value for money. We booked two nights for a weekend getaway to lake George. We are a small family of 3 with a toddler. The one bed suite we booked was quite outdated. It was clean and tidy but nothing luxurious. We came to this resort hoping to do some water activities like boating or kayaking. But the resort provides nothing. No boat or kayak or paddle boat rental of any kind. It’s really not a resort at all just a roof over your head. The only activity that showcases the lake was a daily cruise. We were excited about it and planned to take the one at 3pm on Sunday. Only when we got to the pier did we learn that they told us the wrong times and its at 4pm. I called the hotel general line to confirm and was told it’s actually at 2pm and we had missed the last one. There’s no cruise on Monday. So basically we were told 3 different times (2, 3, 4pm).There is no other activity suitable for toddlers. To be fair, we didn’t check out the tennis court, rock climbing or maybe some other stuff. We tried the lakeside restaurant and the food was average and over priced. You are better off eating outside of the resort.Out of options, we went to the indoor pool. It’s packed, unsanitary, and there’s no lifeguard on duty.Basically - there is nothing this “luxury resort” provides that you can’t get from a Hilton garden inn which will probably charge no more than $300/night. We paid $900, including resort charges.Don’t be a sucker like us.

What a wonderful place! Me and my family had such a good vacation! Service is amazing everyone is kind and friendly, it’s a good environment! It is also suitable for kids and your family! Rooms are clean you have a good view. There are lots of fun activities that the resort offers! The whole experience in general was top notch!

Super pretty resort with a lot of places to take photos! I was up here in August for a proposal and we had a wonderful time and the proposal was in a private spot away from guests which was perfect! Had lunch afterwards which was also tasty:)

Our stay at The Sagamore Resort was amazing! We booked the one-bedroom lodge and it was just right for our family of three. Our 5-year-old had a blast with all the fun activities available, without it feeling too kiddie. The outdoor pool in the winter was a real treat, and the rec room kept our son entertained for hours. The staff were all so friendly and made us feel right at home. Overall, it exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to go back!

I have spent numerous anniversaries, girls trips, and birthdays lounging and living my best life at The Sagamore. It never dissapoints. From the beautiful grounds, overwhelmingly helpful staff, delicious food and drinks, and of course the best views on the lake! It always feels like I'm welcomed back home when I get the chance to come visit. Connor the front desk manager has always been a friendly face to see when we check in. Arlu at the Lakeside bar is always cheerful and makes you feel like she is excited for you to be there. This past weekend as we packed to head home from there I kept reminding myself to finally write a review that is so well deserved. See you all again soon :)

What a disappointment. I'm attending a wedding at this location in about two weeks. I booked a reservation in November of 2023 accordingly. As a result of some personal issues my two-day reservation is now not needed so I called to change my reservation to a single day. Surprisingly for a resort this premium -- The Sagamore has seemingly outsourced their reservation line to a third party. As a result of minimum night stay rules established by the resort, they outright refused to change my two day reservation to a single day. I was concerned that maybe the 800 number third party had limitations on their restrictions and thought by calling the front desk and suggesting that I was there for a function hosted at the resort they might attempt to help me. The front desk transferred me to someone listed as "front office management." I got their voicemail and have never received a call back. Not the type of service or responsiveness you would expect for this level of resort. Extremely disappointing.

For what they charge it was best Western quality. We stayed 4 nights and got a room with a broken toilet seat which they never fixed, carpet that looked from the 90's and smelled like it and an AC unit that quite honestly looked older than the carpet. Oh and they don't do late check out... They only do a "30 minute grace period". My family probably spent 25k that weekend celebrating my aunt's birthday and they don't do late check out?Wonderful staff and scenery but would not go back if you are looking for the experience to equal the expense

We had a very lovely experience here. Very kid friendly with many daytime and nighttime activities in a beautiful setting. The recreation building was great for the cold weather days!

Lindsay W — Google review

The resort is gorgeous. We had a lovely room with a fireplace that we thoroughly enjoyed. For Presidents week they had a lot of fun activities. My favorite was s'mores outside with an acoustic guitarist. Lots of families with very young children. Breakfast was good, but expensive. We had dinner in the restaurant twice and the food was mediocre at best.

Peterson F — Google review

We booked a room this past weekend for a quick anniversary getaway, and this resort exceeded all expectations! Darrah and Goldie at the check-in desk worked some magic to find us an outstanding room in the main lodge after a power outage impacted the adjacent lodge building I had booked. We also mentioned at check-in that it was our anniversary, and shortly after arrival, they sent a bottle of champagne to our room along with a nice note ❤️. Dinner and service at Bella Vista was excellent! I had a filet cooked to perfection and my husband had a delicious chicken piccata. The outdoor warming pool was perfect for a sunny, cool spring day, and the views from our room were amazing! I highly recommend!

Mary B — Google review

The grounds are quite lovely but my room was a bit dated. There was a Nespresso, mini fridge--- but no microwave? My room door was warped or somehow otherwise bent. Even locked, there was a 1 inch gap between the door and the door frame on the top of the door above the lock. I believe it was room 476.All staff I encountered were exceptionally kind and helpful. On premise restaurant had good options with reasonable pricing relative the venue.

Alicia S — Google review

Wow the service we received was so subpar. Sheldon was a disappointment. From not taking our dinner order until well after an hour of us sitting there. We had already had our appetizers sndnour plates cleared when he finally came to take our order. From hitting on some of the girls at the table. (Bachelorette dinner) It was not an enjoyable eating experience for our group. This was my first time here and possibly last. Food was good. Love the fresh pasta. Short ribs pasta dish pictured.

Jessica O — Google review

We pulled up and were greeted and offered wine or Prosecco while checking in. Everyone was lovely and extremely helpful. The views are fabulous from everywhere on the property. Pools, spa, activities, dining, excursions - so many adventures or plenty of relaxing. Soak up Lake George and the lake and mountains vistas. Especially wonderful for children as there are many activities for them too.

Jenn T — Google review

These people are ridiculous. Save your money. Coming for a corporate event and have contracted covid. They wont cancel the reservation, they keep insisting I need to come for a personal visit instead. In this day and age... honestly. I'll be checking this brand off the list of places to stay. I travel globally every year and have over fifteen hundred nights in hotels and resorts lifetime. None will be in an opal collections location moving forward.

Kurt H — Google review

We stayed in one of the lodges. Well maintained but dated as one would expect for the age. Great views. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Restsurant prices are steep but we found Mr. Browns Pub next door had great food with prices that fit a family budget. The buffet breakfast has a vast supply of options. Being a resort, no need to leave as everything is present on site. Bolton Landing is a few minutes away if you want to venture out. The staff is incredible, very friendly and polite.

I have been here several times, so will be back to add more images when I find them. Rooms comfy, view fantastic, staff and food very very good. Lots of wonderful history, we even went on a tour there.

This is a beautiful property on Lake George. We were shocked at how big it is. There are a ton of condos that line the road and are lakefront. The main hotel is beautiful. It has that old school charm but is bright. We didn't stay at the hotel but we're there for dinner. I look forward to going back and seeing it in the summer.

The Sagamore is the largest and the most luxurious resort hotel on Green Island in Bolton Landing NY with spectacular views of the Adirondack mountains and lake George. The service, the food, the activities and the suites are all outstanding. The Sagamore is definitely our home away from home and, our happy place for sure. We look forward to coming back there soon.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our "baby moon" at the Sagamore. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and accommodating, and the whole resort has great amenities and activities onsite. Surround by a small but bustling community at Bolton Landing, we thoroughly enjoyed or long weekend this Fall.
